Last Thursday, our midwife declared Burpy head-down. Hooray! She also scolded me for being completely neurotic, which I think I kind of deserved. “There is no reason to have your butt in the air and music playing in your crotch at 31 weeks!” she said. Even now it’s still possible for Burpy to do some more flips before settling into a final position, so I’m cutting back on the exercises from last week.
But one thing I’m not cutting back on is playing music to my belly. Because the baby seems to really like it! Here are some of her/his favorite songs (based on kicking frequency, which might not be entirely accurate):
We’re allowed music in our labor/delivery room at the hospital, so I’m going to try to make sure these are on the playlist so Burpy has some familiar sounds right at the beginning of his/her time with us. It’ll be a fun experiment to see if the reaction to these is as strong outside the womb as it is inside!
